Born and raised in South Texas, Williams graduated from United High School in 2017, where he was a key figure in one of the region’s top basketball programs. As a senior, he earned the 2017 District MVP award and played a pivotal role in leading the United High School Longhorns to their first-ever Elite Eight appearance in the 2016 Texas high school playoffs.
College Career
After his successful high school tenure, Williams committed to the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), a Division I program, where he played from 2017 to 2019. At UTRGV, he honed his leadership skills and developed a relentless work ethic, laying the foundation for his future success. Seeking a new opportunity, Williams transferred to Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) in San Antonio, Texas, for his final two years of eligibility.
At OLLU, Williams embraced a veteran role, becoming a reliable defender and playmaker for the Saints. His defensive tenacity and ability to facilitate plays were critical to the team’s success. The highlight of his college career came during his senior night in 2022, the final home game of the season, where he started and delivered a career-high 21 points in 30 minutes of play, creating a memorable moment for OLLU fans. Williams graduated from OLLU in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
Coaching and Professional Career
Following graduation, Williams transitioned into coaching, joining the OLLU Saints men’s basketball team as an assistant coach for two years (2022–2024). His leadership and basketball acumen helped guide the team while he continued to pursue his playing career.
In the 2023–2024 season, Williams signed with the Texas Seraphim, an American Basketball Association (ABA) team based in Universal City, Texas. As a semi-professional player, he quickly adapted to the competitive level of the ABA, becoming a key contributor to the Seraphim’s success. During his debut season, Williams averaged an impressive 17.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game. His defensive prowess shone through, as he averaged 4.1 steals per game, ranking him among the top 10 in the league for steals. His versatility as a combo guard, combining scoring, playmaking, and elite defense, has solidified his role as a vital asset for the Texas Seraphim.
Williams continues to balance his passion for playing and coaching, leveraging his experience and leadership to make an impact both on and off the court.
