Introducing a Hidden Gem,

Allow me to introduce all of Texas, to a relatively unknown and extraordinary athlete. (Austin Cox) You will not find him highlighted on the cover of your Wheaties Box or featured on ESPN. You may not even recognize his name. However, if athleticisms are how to be recognized and gain notoriety. Then you will know this man’s name soon. Austin Cox is currently playing for the Texas Seraphim Semi-Professional ABA basketball team. (www.seraphimhoops.com) Out of two hundred teams across the nation Austin is averaging 23 points and 15 rebounds. This man hasn’t even scratched the surface of his talents and yet his humbleness truly defines him.
Where did it start? Diving into Austin’s history, he has played basketball all around the United States as his family was military, thus he has played from the east coast to the west coast. Discovering various challenges along the way such as being out of position, undersized, not even making his high school freshman team.
The one extreme changing point is his athletic career was playing for Belleville EastHigh school in a District playoff game against east St. Louis High school Austin had 20pts 12rebs 3asts 3blks (ledding all players in points rebounds and blocks). This was a major confidence booster solidifying his abilities in a game before he went to play D-1 basketball at Arkansas Pine Bluff.
Yet the fact thathe had to keep reinventing and re- proving to others every time he moved to the states; truly showed levels of perseverance but also became one of his biggest motivators.His father and the late great Kobe Bryant where the catalysts able to motivate Austin’s inner passion. His father was his springboard and Kobe his athletic image idol. Austin was able to battle firsthandmany challenges that seemed too hard to adjust to at first.Through all these challenges, it has taught himmany valuable basketball lessons. In which many others have not be able to experience.So, for all those naysayers out there, I say it again, Austin Cox will be a name to recon with and he truly is a Hidden Gem.
